Mobile Assessment of Community Integration (MACI)
- The goal of this project is to develop and validate novel measures of community integration using digital phenotyping via mobile smartphone technology in recently-housed Veterans with SMI. This project is a funded VA Rehabilitation Research & Development SPiRE grant (Dr. Green, PI). We will use both active (Ecological Momentary Assessment [EMA] of social contact) and passive (Global Positioning System, GPS, measures of mobility in the community) digital phenotyping indices. For EMA, participants will be cued to complete brief surveys multiple times per day over a week to obtain more fine-grained, ecologically valid information on self-reported community integration. The passive indices are automatically collected in the background using standard phone GPS sensors.
